Tough time: Chino Moreno

Deftones have released Leathers from their seventh studio album, Koi No Yokan, due out in November.

Frontman Chino Moreno is aiming to settle the band’s inner turmoil with the record, as they continue life without bassist Chi Cheng, who remains semi-comatose after a car crash in 2008.

Moreno tells Noisecreep: “We were coming out of a tough time, obviously. Our goal was to kind of rebuild what we created over the years. I felt like we had to prove ourselves.”

Leathers is also available as a free download at Deftones.com.
