The Foo Fighters mainman – who’s currently back behind the drumkit for Queens of the Stone Age’s new album – was inspired to tell the story of the iconic California studio after buying its main mixing desk when the establishment closed to the public.
Metallica, Tom Petty, Trent Reznor, Stevie Nicks and many others appear to discuss Sound City’s legacy.
The movie will be premiered at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival in Utah in January.
