The Black Star Riders, ex Thin Lizzy, have released a short interview video from their studio sessions with producer Kevin Shirley.
In the clip, guitarist Damon Johnson discusses how he came up with the riff for a track called Hoodoo Voodoo – and how he felt when he recorded it with classic-era Lizzy axeman Scott Gorham.
The band revealed their new name and lineup at the end of December after deciding not to continue with plans to release new music under Phil Lynott’s title.
The Black Star Riders’ first record is due for release in May via Nuclear Blast. Label boss Monte Conner recently explained that even abandoning the Lizzy name hadn’t put him off signing the band.
