Radiohead’s New Song Honours WW1 Veteran

A brand new track from Radiohead entitled Harry Patch (In Memory Of) is available as as a download from today (August 5).

The song can be downloaded from Radiohead’s official online store, Download.waste.uk.com, with proceeds going to the Royal British Legion.

Harry Patch (In Memory Of) was written by Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke. Patch was the last living British World War 1 veteran until he passed away on July 25 this year aged 111.

Zodiac Sluttishness

Unless you’ve been living in a cave in Borneo for the past coupla weeks, it can’t have escaped your attention that there’s been a bit of a brouhaha about Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand’s dodgy phone calls to Fawlty Towers actor Andrew Sachs.

At the centre of the storm is Sachs’ granddaughter Georgina Baillie, who apparently had sex with Brand and who dances with a ‘burlesque troupe’ called Satanic Sluts.

Now the ever-resourceful Clog has unearthed footage of Baillie and the aforementioned Sluts dancing with Zodiac Mindwarp And The Love Reaction. (Purely in the interests of scientific research, of course.)

Meet the heavy metal band, Hatred. They’re loud. They’re dark. They’re all under 13.

This hilarious documentary, nominated for a 2005 BAFTA Award, follows them as they prepare for their first live gig.

It’s beyond priceless – especially when their long-suffering mum spells the name ‘Hatred’ wrong on their T-shirt logo (i.e. ‘Hatrid’), not to mention the dad’s X-Factor vocals…

‘My drum kit was set up in the studio for five years’

With the release of Guns N’ Roses’ hyper-delayed Chinese Democracy set for November 25, drummer Bryan ‘Brain’ Mantia has provided a remarkable insight into the album’s painstaking/painful recording process.

‘Brain’ should probably be in the Guinness Book Of Records for The Longest Time That A Single Drum Kit Has Been Set Up In A Recording Studio.

“I think it was five years that my drums were set up at the Village Recorders in Los Angeles,” ‘Brain’ divulged.

“It was five years and it went through three different producers. It went through Sean Beaven, Roy Thomas Baker and then I guess Axl is the producer now. Five years my drums were set up.”

‘Brain’ also revealed how more than $300,000 was spent over a seven-month period redoing drum bits note-for-note after Josh Freese left the band.

We’re don’t know for sure don’t know if ‘Brain’ is still a member of the GN’R touring band. You might recall that Frank Ferrer was drafted in as a replacement when ‘Brain’ took time out after he became a dad a couple of years back… apparently management sources claim both drummers are still involved in the GN’R set-up.
