The Texas Prison Service writes…

We get some odd mail at Classic Rock, but a letter from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice still gets our attention. They have the death penalty there, after all.

So this letter initially sent a chill down our spine. Then we read it.

Turns out that someone in a Texas prison is missing their copy of Classic Rock this month. Why? Well, because issue 169 (Van Halen cover) “contains sexually explicit images”.

As surprised as we were at this, it’s not beyond the realms of possibility. So we checked the issue and found… this:

It’s a fair cop, I suppose. You can pretty much see Andy Parker’s nipples and Tonka Chapman’s trousers are so tight that you can tell his religion.

At least, we assume that’s what they’re worried about. It can’t be that line drawing of a naked woman in the background, can it? You’d need to have been locked up in prison to find that arousing…
