OK, so Iron Maiden are up for the Best Live Act award at the Brits and we feel ridiculously passionate that they should win this award for themselves and for the world of hard rock and metal. If you’ve not voted yet, here’s 10 reasons you should.
1) Twickenham. If you were there, you’ll know exactly what we’re talking about.

2) If Britain were to be represented by one live act, that live act should be Iron f’n Maiden.

3) Do we really need to see Chris Martin talking about fair trade, the meaning of life and why his child is named after an inanimate fruit in his acceptence speech? Do we really?

4) Upon being told about their nomination, ‘Maiden released this speech: “Iron Maiden’s secret weapon is our fans. Anyone who’s been to one of our shows knows that they’re the most passionate and devoted fans on the planet, making the incredible atmosphere at our shows. To be nominated for Best Live Act at the Brits is as much a recognition of them as it is of us. So for all of them, Up The Irons!”

5) Bruce waving his flag during ‘The Trooper’, the inevitable appearance of Eddie, Steve Harris’s bass-guitar machine gun pose, Bruce running around more than the average Olympic effort…come on!

7) Iron Maiden’s spine-tingling Churchill speech. You don’t get that level of anticipation waiting for the fat bloke from Elbow turning up in a natty cardigan, do you?

The Brit awards never award hard rock and metal in any way, shape or form and they’d be really, really annoyed if we were to poke them in the eye on this one.

9) Do you think that any of the other bands will even be around long enough to put on the sort of show Iron Maiden put on every single night in their ‘veteran’ years? Nope, nor do we.

10) Not only are ‘Maiden still one of the greatest live spectacles in music, Scouting For Girls, The Verve, Elbow and Coldplay are a big old pile of bollocks.
